Wallpaper: The Best Brands for Kitchens and Powder Rooms

While we were planning the renovation of our showroom, we had the idea of designing a kitchen that would feature one of our favourite trends of the moment: wallpaper.

Since we wanted to demonstrate the versatility of our “mix and match” modular concept, we opted for a combination of Volitare cabinets in white oak and Radix cabinets in black stained oak, complemented by a Mexican-inspired tile wallpaper created by WYNIL.

Want to say goodbye to your plain walls? Here are five brands that will charm you with their colourful patterns!

This company specializing in wallpaper and murals manufactures all of its products in Montreal with environmentally friendly ink and materials. Featuring unique patterns created by artists like Kate Golding, Aleksandra Krakowiak, Patricia Braune and Patrick Pépin, WYNIL wallpapers are easy to install and repositionable. Two characteristics that fit perfectly with our vision of design!

Kate Zaremba is an artist and designer specializing in wallpaper, textiles and ceramics. Her range of wallpapers, composed mainly of abstract patterns, is ideal for adding a pop of colour to the kitchen.

Kate also offers a customization service that lets you personalize any pattern with the colours of your choice. Thus, for $75, you can get a custom design that perfectly matches your decor. Plus, Kate’s wallpapers are completely removable, so they are ideal for students and tenants!

Chasing Paper offers a wide selection of wallpapers, each more charming than the next. Our favourites are the tile wallpapers, which are great for creating faux tile backsplashes in the kitchen or powder room (with fun options like terrazzo, Carrara marble, and concrete), as well as the kids’ wallpapers, which are perfect for nurseries and children’s bedrooms.

The Chasing Paper website even offers a handy tool to calculate how much wallpaper your project will require. Simply enter the height and width of your wall and the calculator will do the rest.

FAYCE wallpapers are the perfect choice for minimalism lovers who want to add a touch of whimsy to their decor. FAYCE offers a variety of elegant wallpapers with botanical and geometric patterns, in a delicate and neutral palette. Our favourite: the LAYPEL wallpaper, which is hand-drawn and printed on clay-coated wallpaper with environmentally friendly water-based inks.
